Multiple Conducotr Cables
Multiple conductor cables. Carrying power from your electric source to a tool, a piece of equipment, lighting, or some other stationary appliance. Used by everyone in everyday life, cables from the socket to your lamp, your toaster, your dishwasher power our lives.
Different cables are used for different environments:
◆ Service cords (the "S" in SJT and SPT) are flexible and can take abuse.
◆ SJTW and STW cords are round and have better "cut through and roll over" abuse characterizes than flat cords.
◆ SPT cords are flat with parallel conductors that stand out less against a flat surface like a floor or a wall.
◆ SJTOW and STOW cords are also round, but they are oil resistant and so better suited to work environments where oil may be present.
◆ SVT cords are round "light duty" cords that are cost effective for indoor appliances only.
Look for the UL and CSA markings so you are assured that the products meet USA and Canadian standards, are readily usable in the right equipment, and have passed stringent electrical and performance tests.
Temperature, voltage, and material requirements can be complicated, so make sure to discuss with your Admiral Cable representative which wire is appropriate for your application.
